Wednesday
The Naxian days have rolled by and it was the last full day of our time on Naxos.
We headed to Plaka Beach on the local bus. This expansive beach of 2 kms is edged by many restaurants and a variety of accommodation options. The beach is dotted with umbrellas owned by the villas or there was the option of paying. Fortunately the season doesn’t officially start until June 1 so we had our beach beds for free.
David had another swim however there was a lot of sea grass. After an hour of watching and resting we walked back to Agia Anna which we think is the prettiest beach and more sheltered by the wind. The restaurants here are right on the beach with lots of umbrella and lilos.
We walked through a few nudist beaches which amused us. One couple even walked right passed us with their even suntans!
We enjoyed a long lunch at Agia Anna but the swims were abandoned as the breeze was very cool and the water was choppy.
A late afternoon sleep for some of us was followed by our last evening meal on this gorgeous island. We walked the Agora which is part of the old town and sat amongst whitewashed walls, geraniums in painted pots and shutters.
We strolled the little alleys ducking in and out of shops and bought a gift for one of our daughters.
It was a lovely last day. Tomorrow we heading to Santorini on the 1pm ferry.

Plaka Beach....very expansive and open to the winds.
A pretty little church on our walk to Agia Anna

Agia Anna in the background...a walk along the beach for 2kms.
Agia Anna is our favourite....restaurants on the beach and much more protected from the elements.

So hard to resist these honey desserts.
One of many restaurants hiding in the alleyways.
